The majority of them will require standing and or walking for several hours.

For this reason, the 2021 Dia de los Muertos Festival will resume in-person activities at a smaller scale, offering Covid-19 vaccinations and testing on site, and highlighting the fundamental and authentic elements of the annual celebration - ofrendas, Danza Azteca, and low-riders. It's such an important year for us to celebrate life and mourn our loved ones. Festival attendees enjoy world-class live music, family-friendly games, rides and activities, traditional Latin American artisans, and the stunning altares created by community members paying homage to Los Muertos. In honor of these two important days on the Latinx calendar, PBS will host a special concert on May 30 to be taped especially for PBS. Traditionally observed on the first two days of November, Dias de los Muertos sees families and friends of loved ones who have died pay respect with colorful, memorial gatherings often taking the air of a joyful celebration rather than of mourning for the departed. The celebration of Dia de los Muertos has become a globally recognized Mexican cultural symbol, a much-anticipated and grandly celebrated holiday in Latinx neighborhoods across the United States and by people of Mexican heritage nearly everywhere.
